Description
The first year disappears in a blur of feeds, naps, nappies and appointments — and somewhere inside all of it are the moments you will want back. The first proper grin. The tooth you felt before you saw it. The morning they crossed the room without holding on. Baby’s First Year Planner & Memory Book is a 40-page printable that keeps the practical side and the sentimental side in one binder, so the record-keeping you are already doing quietly turns into a keepsake you will still be reading in twenty years.
Every page is a blank record grid. Nothing is pre-filled, nothing is prescribed, and there are no age charts, ranges or timetables anywhere in it. You write in what actually happened in your house, on your own days, in your own order.
What’s inside the 40 pages
Cover, welcome and contents (3 pages). A soft terracotta-and-oatmeal cover, a welcome page with printing settings, binder tips and the full personal-use licence, and an at-a-glance contents page so you can find any sheet quickly.
Daily logs (4 pages). A dedicated feeding log with time, type or side, amount, duration and notes; a sleep log for when they went down, when they woke, how long and where; a nappy and change log with wet, dirty and both columns plus a supplies-running-low prompt; and a combined daily routine sheet that puts feeds, sleep and changes on a single page for the days you only want to print one thing. These four are designed to be reprinted endlessly — run off a week at a time and keep them at the front of the binder.
Weekly and monthly overviews (2 pages). A seven-row weekly sheet with a highlight-of-the-day column, a to-do and to-ask list, and a “how I’m doing this week” box for the parent, not just the baby. The monthly page zooms out further: what changed, what stayed the same, a week-by-week grid, favourite moment, hardest day, and the photo you want to get printed.
Growth records (2 pages). A weight and length record — a blank table for date, age, weight, length, head measurement and who took it, plus a clothing and shoe size record. And a completely blank growth chart grid you scale yourself in pounds, kilograms, inches or centimetres. No reference curves, no percentile lines: it is a keepsake chart, not a clinical one.
Doctor and appointment pages (3 pages). An appointment log covering date, age, who you saw, reason and follow-up, with space for what you were told and the details of the next visit. A questions for the doctor page you fill in through the week and take with you, with room to write the answers down. And an immunisation record — an empty grid to copy your own official record into, so it is always to hand.
Milestone pages (5 pages). Photo-friendly spreads for first smile and first laugh, first tooth, on the move (rolling, sitting, crawling, pulling up — four separate boxes, no order implied), first words with a running table of sounds and what they meant, and first steps. Each has a date-and-place block, a photo frame and prompts like “who you walked to” and “what we shouted”.
Keepsake pages (5 pages). A the day you were born page for the birth details, who was there and why you chose the name. A tick-list of 32 firsts with a date line each, plus blanks for firsts of your own. A four-frame hand and footprints page. A letter to you page, designed to be reprinted and rewritten every year. And a favourite things page for the toy, the song, the blanket, the face.
Month-by-month photo pages (12 pages). One page for each month from one to twelve, with a large photo frame, a lined caption box, date, weight and length fields, and “new this month” and “what you loved” sections. Printed and filled in across the year they become the spine of the whole book.
Checklists and reference (4 pages). A baby essentials checklist grouped into feeding, sleeping, changing and out-and-about. A nappy bag and away days list covering every trip, feeding kit, longer days and overnights. A contacts page for clinic, family, childcare and your local emergency number. And a lined notes page to reprint as often as you need.
Who it’s for
New parents who want one place for the logs instead of three different apps. Second- and third-time parents who know exactly how quickly the details blur. Grandparents and childminders who need the same information in front of them. And anyone hunting for a baby shower gift that is more thoughtful than another set of muslins — print it, bind it, and hand over a book the new parents will use from week one.
How to use it
Print one copy of the keepsake, milestone and photo pages, and a stack of the daily logs. Punch three holes down the left edge and load everything into a one-inch binder so you can top up the log pages whenever you run out — or take the bundle to a print shop for comb or spiral binding and get a proper book. Because every page is undated, you can start on any day, in any year, and skip anything that doesn’t apply to your family.
How to print
Use US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) paper and print at 100% or Actual Size — do not select “fit to page”, which shrinks the margins. Choose Colour to keep the soft terracotta and dusty-teal palette; the pages still read perfectly well in greyscale if you would rather save ink. For a premium keepsake feel, 32 lb bright white paper or a light card stock is worth the upgrade, particularly for the handprint and photo pages.
Formats and compatibility
You receive a single print-ready US Letter PDF bundle of all 40 pages, plus every page as an individual PDF in a separate folder so you can reprint just the feeding log or just month seven. A README with printing instructions and the licence is included. PDFs open in Adobe Acrobat Reader, Preview, any web browser and every major tablet annotation app — no special software and no fonts to install. The pages are fixed-text by design: you fill them in by hand or with a stylus.

Frequently asked questions
Is this planner dated?
No — every page is completely undated. You write in your own dates, which means you can start the day you bring your baby home whatever the month or year, and the file never expires or needs replacing.
Can I print the pages more than once?
Yes, and you should. The daily feeding, sleep, nappy and routine logs are built to be reprinted continuously, and the letter-to-baby page is designed to be printed again each year. Your licence covers unlimited printing for personal and immediate-family use.
Does it print on A4 paper?
The file is set up for US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches). It prints on A4 too — select “fit to printable area” in your print dialog and the pages scale down cleanly with slightly wider margins. For exact-size printing, use US Letter and the 100% setting.
Can I fill it in on a tablet instead of printing?
Yes. Import the PDF into GoodNotes, Notability, Noteshelf or a similar annotation app and write on it with a stylus. The pages are not fillable form fields, so you handwrite on them exactly as you would on paper.
Does it tell me how much or how often to feed my baby?
No, and deliberately so. Every page is a blank grid for recording what actually happened. There are no schedules, amounts, milestone ages, sleep methods or immunisation timings anywhere in this planner. It is a keepsake and record-keeping tool, not medical advice — always follow your paediatrician or healthcare provider’s guidance.
